Need a good story? Need a search term to find the good vibes?
I’ve been using #kindnesspandemic on Twitter and Instagram to filter through the millions of stories and posts available on both platforms. If I have a specific place, a singular focus, I can stay positive and find the positive. I don’t want to get sucked into a downward spiral of doom and gloom. I’m so grateful that I happened upon this keyword, this hashtag.
How did #kindnesspandemic start? It was the brainchild of a woman in Australia. Catherine Barrett started a group on Facebook about a month ago, within a week she had over 250,000 members–a month later there are offshoots everywhere.
And that’s the thing about kindness, it can spread faster than the pandemic itself. It can uplift us, rally us, and remind us that we are indeed in this together.
So, if you want to spread kindness and want to do so officially, join your local chapter. If you want to find a feel-good story, to lift your spirits or to gain some inspiration, use #kindnesspandemic. Kindness is out there, we need only look . . .
